Police officer Alexander Ivanov, who was fatally wounded during enemy shelling, said goodbye to Kharkiv
The police colonel devoted more than 20 years of his life to serving the Ukrainian people and remained faithful to the Oath until his last breath. He did not live to his 45th birthday. Sincere condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the deceased.
On the night of April 4, Kharkov was attacked by six Shahed UAVs. Deputy Chief of Police Department No. 1 for preventive activities of Kharkiv RUP No. 3 GUNP in Kharkiv region Alexander Ivanov together with colleagues promptly arrived at the scene of the intrusion in Novobavarsky district. Law enforcement officers provided assistance to the victims, searched for wreckage, documented the consequences of the crime. However, after 40 minutes, the Russian military again brazenly struck residential buildings. Then three rescuers died, the police colonel was seriously wounded.
He underwent several operations. On April 26, at 18:47 Alexander Ivanov's life was interrupted.
Police captain Victoria Mikheeva painfully guesses those terrible events.
“Literally 3-4 seconds before the explosion, we heard the sounds of the shaheeds, began to flee. There was an ambulance across the road. Alexander Alexandrovich pushed me into this car, and he ran further, - says Victoria. “After this explosion, I did not see him anymore. I consider him my guardian angel, and I am very grateful to him for being around at that time.”
The personnel headed by the head of the Kharkiv police Volodymyr Tymoshko, representatives of local authorities, friends, relatives, Kharkiv residents said goodbye to the policeman and led him on his last journey.
“Today we say goodbye to our son, father, policeman, officer. An officer with a capital letter. With an officer who did not sit between two walls, and when he flew over the apartment building, he went out to help people who were then under the rubble, - Vladimir Tymoshko noted. “I ask forgiveness from my parents, wife, children for the fact that he died. He died for his hometown while on duty as a police officer. Honor and glory to him for that. Honor and glory to you for raising him to be such a man.”
Police Colonel Alexander Ivanov was buried on the Alley of Glory in Kharkiv.
