A special Forum dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the creation of the communication units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held in Kyiv for two days.

Speakers and communicators of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, NATO, the UN, the Council of Europe and the EMCDDA spoke about the challenges facing state authorities and the media community in the context of hybrid warfare.

In addition, during the events, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received awards and valuable gifts from the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko for exemplary performance of official duties, significant contribution to the development of military journalism, coverage of information in conditions of martial law, active participation in the use of information technologies to ensure the fight against aggression from the side The Russian Federation against Ukraine.

“Of course, there is a big burden on you in this storm of events that are taking place today in our state. It is important to convey the most important information and not to pass on the information that has limited access and can seep into the security of our country. But at the same time, each of you, in order not to happen in the state, before people start thinking about something, provides a professional and timely comment,” said the Head of the Department Igor Klymenko.

Also, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received awards from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In turn, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko said that he wants all the communicators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system to soon write one of the most important articles with the title “Ukraine has won!”.

International partners who were invited to the Forum “Communication and interaction of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during the war” noted that Ukraine demonstrated true professionalism in communication with the population during the war.

“Communication is essential in times of war and people need to know the truth. You have been able to communicate very well during this war and you have shown that you are ready to win this battle,” Larisa Galadza, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine, said during the Forum.

Also, the international partners noted Ukraine's initiatives on strategic communications, which will continue to work after the end of the war.

“Ukrainian communicators are fast, high-quality and efficient. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is already thinking about communications that will need to be formed after the war. And this is one of the most important efforts. It is now necessary to develop this strategy,” said Vineta Kleine, Director of the NATO Documentation and Information Center in Ukraine.

During a speech at the Forum, the head of the Information Society Department of the Council of Europe Patrick Peninks said that the organization cooperates fruitfully with Ukraine and is fully in solidarity with it against the background of Russian aggression. He noted that the Council of Europe supports the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is ready to provide all necessary assistance to collect evidence of Russian war crimes.

“The Council of Europe and Ukraine successfully communicate and cooperate on many projects. Even during the war, we must ensure freedom of speech in Ukraine,” said Patrick Peninks.

In addition, the communicators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received trainings from Ukrainian specialists, including media experts, analysts, brand leaders, experts in communications and media law.
