Kiev police and emergency workers rescued a woman who tried to jump from the 12th floor with her son
Together with the efforts of police officers and the State Emergency Service, the woman was removed from the parapet and dragged inside the dwelling. The life of a three-year-old boy is not in danger.
Last night, January 26, a resident of Kiev told police that her daughter locked herself in an apartment and threatened to commit suicide by jumping from the 12th floor with her young son. The operative on duty immediately sent all specialized services to the scene.
The police established a telephone contact with the woman and held talks with her for more than an hour to distract her from committing the irreparable. And to give the opportunity for the employees of the State Emergency Service to get to the apartment a floor above, to go down from there to the balcony, on which there was a woman with a living room. As soon as they were able to do this, rescuers waiting near the woman's apartment immediately broke down the door and reached the balcony. Mother and child were dragged into the apartment.
Three-year-old Maxim, frightened by the actions of his mother, was calmed down. He was immediately examined by medical workers and handed over to his grandmother. There is nothing in danger to the child's life at this time.
The 32-year-old native of Kropyvnytskyi was detained by law enforcement officers in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators of the Darnitsky Police Department opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 15, Part 2 of Art. 2 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Attempt to intentionally murder a minor child). Law enforcement officers under the procedural guidance of the district prosecutor's office prepare a report of suspicion for the detainee. She faces imprisonment for up to 15 years or life imprisonment.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, the detainees will be assigned a number of medical examinations to determine the state of their sanity at the time of the crime. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
