A stolen car was found in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Odessa region
A local resident contacted the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the city of Podilsk to re-register a Volkswagen Golf. However, it turned out that the car was wanted.
The owner said that he bought the car in Lviv by proxy. The car attracted the buyer with its excellent condition and very low price. But there is only one nuance - the car was stolen.
During the inspection of the available bases, the administrator of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that the car is in the international database of stolen cars “Interpol”.
Of course, registration actions were suspended, and the collected case materials were transferred to the police for decision in accordance with the current legislation.
Since the beginning of the year, there are already 4 such cases in Odesa region, of which 3 were stolen abroad and 1 in Ukraine.
Service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs once again remind that buying vehicles by proxy is a very risky thing, because the power of attorney does not give ownership. In fact, the owner remains the previous one, and the gullible buyer gets new problems.
Protect yourself from the possible risks of purchasing a vehicle with a criminal past. Conclude a contract of sale directly in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the presence of the seller and the buyer.
