A revitalized passenger-transport flow was observed at the border in August this year. 100,000 more Ukrainians returned to Ukraine than those who left.

In total, in August, border guards issued passes across the border with the EU countries and Moldova for almost 3.9 million people, 86% of whom were Ukrainian citizens. These are mainly women, children and the elderly.

At the beginning of the summer season, in June, the number of Ukrainians traveling outside Ukraine outnumbered those heading to the entrance. In August and July - the situation is different from the first month of summer - Ukrainians headed more to Ukraine.

More than half of the passenger traffic falls on the Ukrainian-Polish border. The number of people who want to cross the border there increases from Thursday to Monday. Because of this, accumulation of persons and transport may occur in front of checkpoints.

In order not to stand in queues, border guards recommend that citizens, if possible, choose routes through checkpoints that are less busy. These are “Courageous”, “Pears” and “Ugrinov”.

In addition, passengers traveling through Poland in transit should choose checkpoints within the Transcarpathian and Chernivtsi regions to cross the border.

Information on the status of queues from the territory of adjacent states can be found at the link.
