In Rava-Ruska, border guards exposed a couple who organized an illegal transfer of a person across the state border
An attempt to illegally cross the border by a man of conscription age was stopped according to the information of the operational officers of the Lviv detachment.
A Volkswagen minibus arrived at the Rava-Ruska checkpoint on the way to Poland. During the arrival to pass the control, the border outfit checked the number of persons who followed across the state border, as indicated in the control ticket. As it turned out later, spouses from Lviv region went by car to a neighboring country.
During the inspection, the 35-year-old passenger got out of the car to the restroom, and the “secret” passenger, who was hiding in the trunk, took her place in the car. In this way, the violators managed to pass the check from the number of persons during the inspection of the vehicle.
After that, the spouses passed the border control in accordance with the established procedure and after returning to the car, the woman corrected the number of persons in the control card. However, during an attempt to leave for Poland, they were stopped by border guards.
Law enforcement officers established that the spouses for a monetary reward agreed to transport a man of conscription age across the border, who has no legal grounds for doing so.
Carriers “valued” their services at 3 thousand US dollars.
The person was not allowed across the border and brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 204-1 KupAp. In relation to the carriers, the operational officers of the Lviv Border Patrol sent a message to the National Police, in their actions there are signs of a criminal offense provided for in Art. 332 Criminal Code “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.
In the course of searches of the vehicle and at the place of residence of the spouses, law enforcement officers discovered and seized funds, bank cards, copies of documents and documents with signs of fakes, a mobile terminal and seven cards confirming involvement in illegal activities.
Investigators informed the attacker of suspicion of committing a crime for organizing an illegal transfer. The question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is considered.
Measures to stop illegal activities were carried out by the operational officers and their own security of the Lviv Border Detachment together with the investigators of the SV VP No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the NP in Lviv Oblast under the procedural leadership of the Zhovkivka District Prosecutor's Office.
