Changes have been made to the Rules for crossing the state border by citizens of Ukraine

The Government's decision expanded the categories of women and men, among a defined category, who can go abroad during the martial law in Ukraine.

The Resolution of February 10, 2023 amended paragraph 2-14 of the Rules for Crossing the State Border by Citizens of Ukraine, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 57 of January 27, 1995, as amended by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated January 27, 2023. № 69.

Thus, the passage across the state border of a woman, in particular one who is an adoptive, guardian, guardian, one of the adoptive parents or one of the foster parents who has or is raising a child or several under the age of 18, for the purpose of visiting or accompanying a child abroad, is carried out by authorized persons of the State Protection Service Border services in the presence of relevant supporting documents. In particular — passport document for traveling abroad, birth certificate of the child, as well as documents confirming the child's stay abroad.

The same shall apply to a man who is a single father, single adopter or guardian, guardian, foster father or foster father, provided that he is not married and independently brings up and maintains a child without the participation of the mother, from among the persons specified in this paragraph, who have or are raising a child or more under the age of 18.

For men, in addition to the documents indicated for women for going to children, there must be documents confirming the status of a single parent, the upbringing and maintenance of the child by the father independently.
