At the ferry checkpoint “Orlivka”, the service dog of the border guards found drugs in inflatable balls

During the inspection of the bus “Vanhool” on the personal belongings of the passenger, the service spaniel Archie worked. The 42-year-old citizen of Ukraine was traveling to the Romanian city of Constanta.

According to the results of the inspection, border guards, together with customs officers, among hygiene products, found substances of plant origin packaged in inflatable balls, probably cannabis. So that the service dog could not detect the smell of drugs, the woman additionally wrapped them in foil and carefully tied the inflatable balls.

In total, the keen sense of smell of the four-legged helped to detect more than 250 grams of the narcotic substance.

On the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Art. 305 Criminal Code “Smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or counterfeit medicines”, border guards reported to the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police.

The substance is removed and transferred for examination.
