On the eve of Mother's Day, which is celebrated this year in Ukraine on May 14, the leadership of the GUNP in Rivne region met with the mothers of police officers who died during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

In 2022, the police family of Rivne region lost six sons of Ukraine: the head of the explosives service Alexander Mamchur and five fighters of the special unit “KORD” — Serhiy Shevchuk, Vasily Nisynets, Andriy Okseniuk, Igor Markov and Taras Melnyk.

The informal event began traditionally — with a minute of silence.

“Believe that these flowers are from sons. Because we are all your children now. And it is our duty to take care of you and support you in everything, - stressed the head of the police of Rivne region. “This is our common loss and at the same time a history engraved with the names of those whom we have no right to forget. We are proud of them, thank you and grieve together with you,” said Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the GUNP in Rivne region.

The leadership of the police of the region talked with the mothers of their deceased colleagues: about problems, needs and experiences. All topics are reduced to one, because the war hurts the most today.

After the meeting, the mothers and policemen led by the head laid flowers at the wall of memory of the dead policemen, which was arranged in the Main Directorate of the National Police in Rivne region. Then — to the monument to the dead law enforcement officers: the names of their sons are now inscribed on the black granite.
