The National Academy of Internal Affairs begins training for the fourth set of security specialists in the educational environment

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine together with the National Police of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with the participation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Education Ombudsman in partnership with the All-Ukrainian Association of Amalgamated Territorial Communities, the Association of Ukrainian Cities, the NGO “Safe Educational Space” and with the support of UNICEF Ukraine continues the implementation of the project “Specialist for Security in the Educational Environment”.

The project aims to increase the level of safety of the educational process through the training and introduction into the executive bodies of territorial communities of security specialists whose knowledge and skills correspond to the current security challenges.

A security specialist in the educational environment is a civilian who will be selected and trained, and his main task is to identify and stop offenses within the educational institution, participate in preventive measures and make proposals for strengthening a safe educational environment.

Such specialists will become a kind of communicators between local governments, police, rescuers, educators, students and parents. Their main tasks will be the detection and termination of offenses in the educational establishment, participation in preventive measures and the provision of proposals to strengthen a safe educational environment free from bullying, violence and drugs.

Rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs Volodymyr Cherney congratulated all those present at the event and stressed that together we are called to help the State in creating safe conditions for our children during the educational process. He invited the participants to undergo active training, to seek answers to all the questions they will need for further practical implementation of the project, and teachers of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, police officers and rescuers will help them in this, who will share theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and skills.

Deputy Head of the Human Rights Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ruslan Sabirov noted that the issue of security of the educational process is not new for society, but it becomes of particular relevance in the context of a full-scale war in Ukraine, when the possibilities of providing basic human needs, including children, are violated. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the central executive bodies within the scope of the Ministry's administration, especially the National Police of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, make every effort to ensure that educational institutions have safe conditions for children, teachers, staff and other community members to stay in them during emergencies.

Therefore, the National Academy of Internal Affairs began training 24 specialists who will later work in 24 territorial communities of 11 regions of Ukraine. This project will enable communities to build environments for children free from bullying, drugs and violence.
