The Ministry of Internal Affairs awarded children who showed heroism during the war
Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky congratulated the little heroes and, together with Tina Karol and the stars of show business, presented gifts for St. Nicholas Day.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked the young Ukrainians for their courage and heroism, which they showed during the repulse of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. After all, each of the awardees contributed to the future victory of Ukraine.
“Your stories inspire not only me, but also our great team — policemen, rescuers, national guards. This difficult time shows that the heroes are among us. This is a very difficult period, and I am personally charged with such meetings,” said Denis Monastyrsky.
During the event, the participants heard the stories of children who had joined the volunteer movement: some weaved nets and kikimori, made trench candles for the military, while others collected funds with classmates and bought tourniquet bundles, hemostatic aids and bourgeois stoves for the national guards.
Some sold Ukrainian souvenirs during concerts of the ensemble, in which they sing, and donated the proceeds to charitable foundations. Someone personally sews and sells eco-bags, and for the proceeds buys warm winter clothes for the military.
Some daily bake cookies and sweets, sell products and raise funds to support the Armed Forces, including helping wounded soldiers in hospitals.
Together with the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the children were awarded by the Ukrainian singer Tina Karol, who thanked them for their heroic deeds:
“Adults are already taking an example from you. This means that among you there are definitely future ministers, singers, doctors, and maybe a president. Each of you has already become a person today, so you are an extraordinary and integral part of our state,” she said.
Singer Wellboy, Ukraine's representative at the children's Eurovision and actress Anna Trincher, YouTube bloggers Magic Five also visited the awards to the children. The event was organized with the support of the Canadian-Ukrainian Police Development Project (CUPDP) and the Oleksandr Pikalov Foundation.
