In Lviv, police reported suspicion of the director of an enterprise that appropriated almost one and a half million hryvnias of state funds
Abusing her official position, the attacker introduced knowingly false information to official documents and used forged documents, as a result of which she seized budget funds in particularly large amounts.
As the investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Lviv district police department No. 1 established during the pre-trial investigation, a 68-year-old resident of Lviv, director of one of the road repair and construction departments, in July last year forged the acts of acceptance of construction works, which overestimated the volume and cost of the work performed from the reconstruction of a pedestrian sidewalk on one of the streets of Lviv. Thus, the Lviv City Council suffered losses amounting to UAH 1,355,790.
Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural direction of the Galician District Prosecutor's Office, informed the offenders about the suspicion of committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 2 of Article 366 (Service Forgery, which caused serious consequences) and Part 5 of Article 191 (Appropriation, misappropriation of property or possession of it by abuse of official position, committed in particularly large quantities) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation continues.
