Operatives of the State Border Guard Service exposed a criminal group that specialized in the distribution of foreign counterfeit medicines for serious diseases in the territory of Ukraine.
In Kyiv, the operational staff of the State Border Guard Service and the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office, with the strong support of the soldiers of the border patrol DOZOR, conducted a number of searches.
During the searches, the dubious origin of medicines worth more than 5 million hryvnias was discovered and seized, some of which cost in retail trade 5 thousand US dollars per package. Also, law enforcement officers seized Sunday's proceeds from the sale of dubious medicines - more than 300 thousand hryvnias, mobile terminals, laptops, bank cards that could be used for illegal activities.
A pre-trial investigation of crimes related to the counterfeiting of medicines continues (Art. 321-1 of the Criminal Code), their smuggling (Art. 305 of the Criminal Code), illegal use of marks for goods and services, brand names (Art. 229 of the Criminal Code), as well as the illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues (Art. 307 KKU).
