A meeting in memory of the Hero of Ukraine — Roman Sobkiv was held in Kyiv
The National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II commemorated the memory of the Hero of Ukraine, an officer of the separate special purpose unit “Omega” of the National Guard — Major Roman Sobkiv, who died heroically at the beginning of a full-scale invasion.
The exhibition showed Roman's personal belongings and an excerpt from the film of the National Guard of Ukraine — the story of the life and death of a special forces officer. About how in March 2022, Roman Sobkov's unit was ambushed by the enemy.
The commander gave the order to withdraw, and he himself remained to cover the brethren. His heroic death saved the lives of many of his comrades in combat.
“He was the most prepared man for war. He rushed into battle, rushed to destroy the enemy. Like no one else, he deserved the title of Hero of Ukraine. We remember and we will definitely take revenge!” says one of Roman Sobkiv's brothers.
The story of the National Guard is one of the many famous stories of Heroes, which were carefully collected and described by museum workers at the exhibition “Ukraine — Crucifixion”.
