A man will be tried for domestic violence against his wife for the second time in Kyiv
The attacker was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility, and was also sentenced to one year in prison with a probation period. Investigators have now completed a pre-trial investigation. The man faces up to two years in prison.
At the beginning of November, the Dnieper Police Department received a statement from a local resident that the man continues to commit domestic violence against her. The woman said that he insults her with insults, humiliates, and also threatens to beat her.
According to the head of the sector for combating domestic violence of the Dnieper police department Vladislav Blyznyuk, law enforcement officers repeatedly brought the 49-year-old offender to administrative responsibility for illegal actions, and in July this year the court sentenced him to one year of conditional imprisonment:
“The man paid fines and served administrative arrests, but he did not change his behavior. With an outstanding criminal record and on probation, the offender went on to commit domestic violence against his wife. We collected the necessary information and handed it to the investigators who initiated criminal proceedings under Article 126—1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — domestic violence. Under the procedural guidance of the Dnieper District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kiev, investigators informed the attacker about the suspicion of committing a crime.”
Recently, law enforcement officers completed a pre-trial investigation and sent the materials of the criminal proceedings together with the indictment to the court for consideration of the case on the merits. For the crime committed, the citizen of Kiev faces up to two years in prison.

It was attended by more than one thousand participants.
Domestic violence can be disguised, hidden and adapted to circumstances for a long time. And if a person is faced with an injustice, you can almost always see red flags in their behavior. A few aspects to pay attention to:
Physical violence
Those affected may appear with bruises or wounds, have inflamed eyes, wear closed clothing, shudder in response to movements
Economic violence
Those affected are forced to beg for money, report checks for all purchases, ask permission for their actions
Psychological abuse
Those affected should constantly be in touch with their partner or relatives, report on each step. Constantly check the phone, they are afraid to make even the smallest decisions on their own. May have panic attacks, mood swings, be depressed, and limit social contacts
Sexual violence
Those affected may have bruises on the body, fall into depressive and apathetic states, not perceive their own body and sexuality, or, on the contrary, unexpectedly begin to manifest it brightly. Shudder in response to movements or questions
