In Kiev, intruders who illegally appropriated an apartment and tried to take the owner to a specialized institution will be tried
Law enforcement officers detained the defendants “on a hot fire, and now investigators have completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the indictment to the court. For what they commit, offenders face between five and twelve years in prison, according to their “roles” in the commission of the crime.
The criminal group included the organizer and his accomplice, who the day before illegally appropriated the apartment of a pensioner and two other men who were assigned the role of medical workers who took the victim from the home and had to deliver her to a nursing home.
First, the accomplices forged the passport of the pensioner and illegally issued a will for one of them, a power of attorney for the right to represent the interests of the Kyiv woman in state bodies and a power of attorney for the right to dispose of her real estate. Subsequently, using fictitious documents, one of the attackers allegedly “sold” the apartment to his relative for almost two million hryvnias, but without payment of funds, since the contract was concluded solely for the purpose of removing the apartment from the property of the woman and its real sale in the future. In order to implement the plan as soon as possible, the accomplices decided to “get rid” of the woman, placing her in a specialized institution.
For this part of the plan, they involved two more men who were engaged in the transport of sedentary passengers. Under the guise of “ambulance” doctors, they forcibly removed the victim from the apartment and put him in a car. To calm the woman, who did not want to leave the apartment and called for help, the attackers injected her with a potent substance.
Operatives stopped the violators as soon as the car with the pensioner moved away from the house. During urgent searches at the crime scene, in the car and at the place of residence of the suspects, the Investigative Task Force recovered a number of physical evidence that confirmed their criminal activities. We detained all four defendants in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
According to this fact, the investigators of the Dnipro Police Department, under the procedural direction of the Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office of the city. Kyiv, informed the detainees about the suspicions, according to their roles in the criminal scheme, namely: under Part 4 of Article 190 — fraud committed on a particularly large scale by a previous conspiracy of a group of persons, Part 2 of Article 146 — unlawful imprisonment committed under a previous conspiracy of the group persons, part 5 of article 27 part 1 of article 358 — assistance in falsification of documents and under part 4 of art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the use of a knowingly forged document. The sanction of a severe article provides for up to twelve years imprisonment with confiscation of property.
