Organisers of underground casinos will be tried in Kyiv
The monthly income of 13 participants of the criminal scheme, who created a network of underground gambling establishments in the capital, was from 900 thousand to 1 million hryvnias.
The illegal business was organized by a 43-year-old native of Vinnytsia region, who directly provided financing for the network and coordinated the actions of other members of the criminal group. Online casinos were disguised as non-residential premises, decorated with fake persons, and which were located in different areas of Kiev.
The staff of the establishments were selected according to the results of a thorough inspection, they worked in shifts. Women worked here as administrators and cashiers, and men provided computers for continuous access to gambling, and were engaged in security of establishments. To encourage players, they were treated to drinks for free and given the opportunity to play debt.
The activities of the criminal organization were stopped by the operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the city. Kyiv, the investigators of the Dnieper Police Department together with the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office. Almost a hundred computers were seized in institutions. At the moment, the indictment is sent to court. The 13 defendants face up to twelve years in prison with confiscation of property.
