In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained two fraudsters who tried to sell someone else's apartment
According to forged documents in the transaction, the attackers planned to earn 2.1 million hryvnias. The accomplices were notified of suspicion of criminal offenses. The defendants face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
During the implementation of operational information, employees of the Darnytsky Police Department exposed and detained two fraudsters who fraudulently tried to sell a 2-room apartment on Anna Akhmatova Street, the owner of which is located abroad.
Law enforcers found that in order to realize their criminal intentions, the suspects turned to a private notary and tried to sell housing that they did not own for 2.1 million hryvnias using forged documents. During the signing of the contract of sale of real estate, police officers detained offenders in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Detainees were local residents - a 29-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, who were the executors. At the scene, the police seized physical evidence: power of attorney, technical documentation for real estate and other forged documents, as well as money, bank cards and mobile phones.
With the agreement of the Darnytsky District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kiev, the investigators of the territorial unit announced to the defendants the suspicion of committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — fraud committed on a particularly large scale by an organized group and part 3 of Art. 358 Criminal Code — forgery of documents and the use of forged documents, committed by a previous conspiracy by a group of persons. They face from 5 to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. Currently, the court chooses a preventive measure for suspects, and the police check accomplices for involvement in the commission of similar crimes and establish the organizers of the scam.
