The attacker posted on the mobile application about raising funds for the needs of defenders. After receiving the money, he left a part to himself, and in the photo editor he changed the amount of the charitable transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The defendant faces up to seven years in prison with confiscation of property.

Policemen of the Holosiivskyi Police Department together with the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office exposed the illegal activities of a man who developed a scheme to seize money that Ukrainians transferred for the needs of defenders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It was established that a native of the Poltava region, born in 1992, was the administrator of several telegram channels and public chats. It was in them that the defendant posted publications on collecting money to help the defenders of Ukraine and provided details of his own bank cards. After that, he received finances from those who wanted to help, sent only the smallest part of the funds of the Armed Forces, and appropriated the rest to himself.

In order to hide his criminal actions, the attacker used a photo editor, with the help of which he increased the amount of transferred funds for the needs of the military. On July 15 of this year, investigators of the Golosiivskyi Police Department and law enforcement officers of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted an authorized search in the apartment of the offender, from where they seized material evidence casies. Among them are bank cards, laptop, flash drive and cash in the amount of 9,400 hryvnias. The fraudster was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Currently, the pseudo-volunteer has been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal use for the purpose of profit of charitable donations during martial law, and investigators are preparing a petition to the court to choose a preventive measure for it. The sanction of the article provides for five to seven years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and with confiscation of property.
