In Kiev, the police exposed a fraudulent call center - attackers seized citizens for more than a million hryvnias
In the office space, law enforcement officers found 17 employees and 25 equipped workplaces. Call center workers deceived victims under the pretext of investing in pseudo-projects. Investigators qualified the actions of intruders under Part 3 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Investigators of the Kiev police under the operational support of the cyber police department in the city. Kyiv and the procedural leadership of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office stopped the activities of the fraudulent call center, which was located in one of the office premises on Yevhen Konovalets Street, in the Pechersk district. In the office, law enforcement officers found 17 call-center employees and 25 equipped workplaces.
The police found that the offenders called citizens who were lured money under the pretext of investing in pseudo-projects. During their activities, according to preliminary estimates, the attackers caused damage to the victims of more than a million hryvnias. In addition, during the search, law enforcement discovered 29 units of computer equipment, 33 mobile phones, a tablet, a ledger (wallet for crypto assets), slots for seven cards and “rough” records.
According to this fact, the investigators of the investigative department of the Kiev police are investigating the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — fraud committed on a large scale or through illegal transactions using electronic computer technology.
