In Kyiv, during a conflict in a hotel, a man shot a man: the police launched a pre-trial investigation
A man who fired a traumatic weapon at a man during a conflict in a hotel has been detained. The actions of the offender were classified by investigators as hooliganism. The defendant faces up to seven years in prison.
Yesterday, November 4, the police received a report of a shooting on Esplanadnaya Street. The investigative task force, operatives and the leadership of the Pechersk Police Department immediately left for the scene.
The incident happened on the ground floor of the hotel between a company of persons and an unknown person. During a verbal conflict, the offender took out a weapon and shot one of the men, as a result of which the victim was wounded in the leg. After the crime, the attacker immediately fled the scene by car, so a special police operation was introduced in the capital and all police uniforms were focused on the search for cars.
Within an hour, law enforcement officers detained a man on Mykhailo Boichuk Street. He turned out to be a native of Odessa region, born in 1990.
The defendant was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the search of the car, investigators seized the probable weapon of the crime - a traumatic pistol. Currently, the issue of notifying the offender of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - hooliganism is being resolved.
