Border guards detained 8 violators in the mountains of Transcarpathia (VIDEO)
Last night, the soldiers of the Chop Detachment detained a group of men who were illegally trying to cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
It was possible to stop the offenders thanks to advance information from the operational officers of the unit.
Border guards of the Novoselytsia department were informed that near the village of Guta, Uzhgorod district, an attempt to illegally cross the state border by a group of men of conscription age is possible.
Additional border outfits were sent to the site indicated by the operatives, operations officers and a dog handler with a search dog were involved in the search.
As a result of the measures taken, law enforcement officers managed to identify eight violators of the law in a wooded area near the border.
All detainees are citizens of Ukraine. Seven had identity documents with them. The men turned out to be residents of Kiev, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions. The eighth did not have any documents with him and was called Transcarpathian.
The investigators established that he was engaged in the transportation of seven other people across the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
Detainees were taken to the border unit in order to clarify the circumstances of the offense. They will be brought to administrative responsibility for attempting to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine.
In the actions of the Transcarpathian people there are signs of a criminal offense, the responsibility for which is provided for in Art. 332 Criminal Code “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine”. The corresponding message was sent to the address of the Uzhgorod Regional Department of the National Police.
In total, on December 2, 67 thousand people and 16 thousand vehicles crossed the western borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova (in the Chernivtsi region).
Last day 33 thousand people left Ukraine. 19 thousand of them crossed the border with Poland, the rest followed to other EU countries and Moldova.
Over the past day, 34 thousand people followed Ukraine, 30 thousand of them are citizens of Ukraine.
65 trucks with humanitarian aid were issued.
