Consultations with American and Australian doctors were held in the Main Medical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine
During the week, surgeons from the United States and Australia advised Ukrainian doctors about performing maxillofacial operations by the Ukrainian military.
Ivan Yavorsky, head of the Main Medical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, on the basis of which consultations were conducted, noted that this initiative inspires not only our doctors, but also fighters to continue fighting.
“The exchange of experience helps to improve the qualifications of medical personnel and ensure better recovery of wounded defenders who serve our country devotedly,” Ivan Yavorsky emphasized.
Surgical interventions in cases of facial and neck injuries require considerable expertise and professionalism, as well as access to advanced treatments. Cooperation with world experts in this field allows Ukrainian doctors to improve their skills and use new approaches to treatment.
During the discussion of the results of the work of foreign colleagues, the Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Health, Medical Care and Health Insurance Mykhailo Radutsky noted that due to the full-scale war in the country, the need for surgical interventions, rehabilitation and prosthetics has increased significantly.
“Currently, there are several programs on limb prosthetics, less on the restoration of the injured face. Although it is the face that is not covered by anything on the battlefield, one of the first to suffer in battle,” the MP stressed.
At the end of their mission, doctors from the USA and Australia received thanks from the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko for the important exchange of experience for doctors and contribution to the recovery of Ukrainian defenders.
