In Dnipro, law enforcement officers detained participants of a drug syndicate with a monthly multi-million turnover
During the special operation, the employees of the DVB and the SBI exposed and stopped the activities of a criminal organization that established a large-scale psychotropic sales network in the territory of Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions. Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the main defendants have already been detained.
A criminal organization from the Dnipropetrovsk region, which specialized in the distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, came into the field of view of the operatives of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine.
The leader of a criminal organization with a clear hierarchical structure was a 49-year-old resident of Dnipro, who involved other persons - men and women between 28 and 43 years old - in the illegal business. The accomplices performed clearly distributed functions - packaging, further distribution and expansion of the market for the sale of the prohibited substance.
The attackers focused on the sale of methamphetamine and cannabis in the territory of two regions - Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava region.
Employees of the NPU and the SBI, with the physical support of the Department of Rapid Response of the Internal Security Service and special purpose police fighters of the Dnipropetrovsk police, simultaneously conducted 36 sanctioned searches of the defendants, during which they found and seized: drugs, accessories for their packaging, bank cards, “rough” records, money, mobile phones and SIM cards.
At the moment, the leader and all his associates have already been notified of suspicion of creating and participating in a criminal organization, as well as in the purchase and sale of drugs as part of this organization (part 1, 2 of article 255, part 4 of article 28, part 3 of article. 307) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face up to twelve years in prison.
The main participants of the criminal organization were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility.
In addition, the internal security officers of the National Police conducted searches on two current and two former police officers who may be involved in the activities of the drug gang. The investigation is ongoing.
