The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a meeting with the delegation of the International Center for the Development of Migration Policy
Recently, the leadership of the State Migration Service of Ukraine met with the delegation of the International Center for the Development of Migration Policy, which is a long-term partner of the State Migration Service.
The parties discussed the current state of implementation of joint projects, identified priorities for further actions.
The DMS outlined the priority directions of the Migration Service's work in the conditions of martial law and after the end of the war in Ukraine. In particular, they noted that for the migration service, the main thing is to ensure a stable connection of citizens who have forcibly left abroad with Ukraine, by providing a wide range of administrative services and establishing mutual understanding between Ukrainians and state institutions of host countries.
“Creating a new model of the Migration Service by reforming it into a powerful analytical center of migration processes and risks, will allow to translate migration management and provision of services to citizens to a qualitatively new level. Restoring the work of the Migration Service in the de-occupied territories, the provision of services to internally displaced persons and the resettlement of citizens from among the military - is the highest social duty of the Service and the moral responsibility of its leadership,” the DMS leadership said.
Ukrainian migration workers noted that the European integration movement of Ukraine has set the SMS a big homework task to bring the country's legislation in the migration sphere closer to the EU acquis, the qualitative implementation of which will contribute to the process of our country's acquisition of full membership in the EU.
In turn, the representatives of the ICRC noted the significant successes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the implementation of the specified tasks, expressed comprehensive support in the continuation of fruitful cooperation in the field of migration and readiness to assist in bringing Ukraine closer to EU membership, in particular in the field of migration.
