The State Border Guard Service created special combat groups to combat Russian drones
Drone hunters have the necessary equipment and weapons: machine guns, anti-drone guns, thermal imagers, searchlights, laser sights, etc. These fire groups can operate both stationary and hunt enemy drones on high-traffic vehicles.
The task of these fighters is to protect personnel or important objects, or to stop a drone flying from the territory controlled by the militants in the depths of Ukraine.
“Earlier at night, the targeting and destruction of unmanned aircraft was carried out by engine noise, but now we have upgraded our machine guns with laser sights, which simplify the aiming and defeat of these unmanned aircraft,” says the machine-gunner of the Kramatorsk Border Guard on the pseudonym “Mark”.
“Detecting dangerous aerial targets in the night sky is also greatly helped by powerful searchlights, which were provided by volunteers,” adds the border guard with the nickname “Associate Professor”.
In the context of this war, fire groups that counter enemy drones have work to do, both near the line of contact, where the aggressor uses all types of UAV, and in more remote areas where lancets or shaheeds can reach.
