The head of the department said in an interview with the journalists of the Interfax-Ukraine information agency:

“Each citizen will have his own electronic account with full information about his weapons, about the terms of re-registration, about checks, sales marks. And when buying weapons, you can choose and order, without going to either the departments of the permit system or the store. That is, the system of purchase and sale of weapons will be simplified as much as possible,” Igor Klymenko noted.

The main goal of the Unified Register is that all weapons that are currently in the hands of citizens, which are 1 million 300 units, should be in the registry. The same will apply to the new weapons that will arrive in Ukraine:

“The registry will help the law enforcement system to control the distribution of weapons. We must do everything to ensure that Ukrainians feel safe. Returning a sense of security after the war to our citizens is the first thing that the state and the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs should do. For this purpose, weapons must be accounted for, controlled and the rules for carrying or using them must be clearly spelled out,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine stressed.

The launch of the Unified Register is scheduled for June 23, 2023. In a few weeks it will already be launched in a test version.
