In Chernivtsi, police reported on suspicion of the director of the enterprise in evading taxes on more than UAH 20 million
Employees of the Investigative Department of the GUNP together with colleagues of the Regional Department of Strategic Investigations of the SSR NPU and the State Tax Service in Chernivtsi Oblast exposed an illegal scheme of evasion of value added tax by the head of one of the food industry enterprises.
Carrying out a pre-trial investigation, under the procedural guidance of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, law enforcement officers established that during 2019-2020, the 43-year-old official used a criminal scheme of enrichment. When forming a corporate income tax return, the man entered false information and underestimated the real efficiency and solvency of the enterprise. As a result of illegal actions, the state budget did not receive more than UAH 20 million.
At present, police investigators have informed the offender about the suspicion of committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 3 of Art. 212 (evasion of taxes, fees (mandatory payments), Part 1 of Article 366 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
A pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers check the involvement of other persons in the commission of this crime.
