The other day, a 23-year-old guy from Slavyansk applied to the UDMS in the Chernihiv region with a question regarding the registration of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for the first time.

According to the young man, after the invasion of Russian troops into Donetsk and Luhansk region, he had to leave his home. It was for these reasons that he did not receive a passport on time - upon reaching the age of old age.

Now the guy on a volunteer basis is engaged in the restoration and repair of houses damaged by the consequences of Russian aggression in the Chernihiv region.

Employees of the Department explained to the young man that, in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation, in order to issue a passport of a citizen of Ukraine in the form of an ID-card for the first time after reaching the age of 18, it is necessary to carry out the procedure of establishing a person with the involvement of relatives, neighbors, etc. And the main thing is that in the conditions of martial law this can be done in video conference mode.

Despite the difficulties and failures in establishing online communication with her mother, who still lives in Slavyansk, on the territory of demarcation, the migrants of Chernihiv region talked with the woman and carried out the procedure of establishing the identity.

So, soon the guy will receive the first passport of a citizen of Ukraine in the form of an ID card in his life.

Detailed information on the list of documents for obtaining a passport of a citizen of Ukraine in the form of an ID-card after reaching the age of 18 and the procedure for video conferencing can be found at the link or in the “Frequently asked questions during martial law”.
