The pseudominer reported that he had explosive items that he planned to throw into the police department. During the verification, it is determined that the messages are not true.

In total, since the beginning of the month, the police have prosecuted four men for false calls to the special services.

On February 14, while intoxicated, a 37-year-old man previously convicted made a call to the 102 service and reported a desire to blow up the local National Police department, while the man did not report his whereabouts. By operational measures, law enforcement officers established the location of the latter. During communication, the man had obvious signs of intoxication. In relation to the latter, an administrative protocol was drawn up under Article 183 of the Code of Administrative Procedure.

And the next day, in the morning, the latter repeatedly called the line “102" and threatened to use explosive devices. With the measures taken, the police established the location of the attacker and carried out investigative actions at his place of residence. As a result of the measures carried out, no suspicious objects were found.

Now the offender, in agreement with the district prosecutor's office, has been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 259 (Knowingly false report of a threat to the safety of citizens, destruction or damage to property objects) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The question of choosing a preventive measure for the attacker is resolved. A man may face imprisonment for a term of four to eight years.

Two other false reports were also received on February 14 to the police “hotline”.

In Pokrovsk, a man reported that he intended to throw a grenade into one of the bank branches in Pokrovsk. A police outfit arrived at the scene, which did not detect a threat. During the inspection, the police established the identity of the applicant. It turned out that the man was in a state of strong alcohol intoxication.

Another false call went to the police of Mirnograd. A local resident told about a conflict with a friend, during which he inflicted a fatal knife wound on her. The police found that the applicant had given false personal data and made up a story with the murder.

Yesterday, February 15, the police officers of Mariupol went to the call about the murder. At the address, law enforcement officers found two men in a state of heavy alcohol intoxication. This challenge also turned out to be false. All three men have been brought to administrative responsibility.

Law enforcement officers draw the attention of citizens to the responsibility for false calls not only to the police, but also to the fire and rescue service, ambulance or other emergency services: violation of Article 183 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses “Knowingly false call of special services” entails the imposition of a fine from 50 to 200 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (850-3400 UAH).

Distracted by a false call, law enforcement officers, medics or rescuers may not arrive in time to where their help is actually needed!
