400 educational institutions will have a police security guard
Recently, training started for active law enforcement officers who will serve in educational institutions within the framework of the project “Officers of the Educational Security Service”. Subsequently, they will be replaced by SOB officers, who, after the announcement of the recruitment, will undergo selection and appropriate training.
This project is implemented on the initiative of the state leadership with the participation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police. Its goal is to protect children in schools in conditions of full-scale war and to create a safe environment after the war.
It is important that at the same time the officer of the Educational Security Service is not a security guard, but a specialist in security issues in an educational institution. In addition to police skills and the implementation of the safety protocol, he will have knowledge of the child's psychology to understand it and, if necessary, help and take the necessary measures in time.
SOB officers will act as mediators between school administrations, parent committees and children and work together with educators to create a safe environment for children.
Already in January, 402 schools will be provided with security officers temporarily from among the active employees of the security police, patrol police and other units of the National Police.
We are talking about Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporozhye, Kiev, Nikolaev, Rivne, Sumy, Chernihiv region.
The powers of the police will include pass-through (many schools will install special frames and metal detectors), communication with emergency services, calling the police and personally responding to offenses.
One of the most important points in the work is communication with children in the educational institution, in particular about the threat of explosives and any unknown objects that the child may come into contact with.
Police officers will serve in this mode temporarily, while future officers of the Educational Security Service after the announcement of the competition undergo selection, training and training.
The new model of educational law and order is designed to provide a safe environment in which children will grow up.
