Held hostage two women and a child: law enforcement officers conducted a special operation in Odessa region

In Odesa region, a 27-year-old resident locked his former civilian wife, a common daughter and her grandmother in an apartment. At the same time, he threatened them with physical abuse. Cries for help were heard by people on the street and called law enforcement agencies.

Employees of the territorial police unit, juveniles, psychologists, dialogue police, the leadership of the GUNP in the Odessa region, the municipal guard, the security police and special officers of the KORD arrived on the call.

During negotiations with the attacker, law enforcement officers managed to persuade him to release the mother of the former roommate. He handed over the 46-year-old woman to representatives of the municipal guard from the window of the apartment to the balcony. The woman was hospitalized and diagnosed with a closed traumatic brain injury, concussion, multiple hematomas on her face and a wound on her forearm.

The husband categorically refused to let go of the former roommate with the child.

Mother and daughter were later released. It was possible to do this thanks to an operational combination with the involvement of negotiators and Kordivs. The 26-year-old woman suffered domestic violence. She was taken to hospital with bruises to her head, face and arm. The child was not physically harmed. She is now with her mother.

The offender was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. His actions by the investigation are qualified under Part 2 of Art. 146 and Art. 126-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. It is about unlawful imprisonment and domestic violence. For his actions, a man faces up to five years in prison.
