Three territorial communities of Kirovograd region join the project “Educator of Security”

Memoranda of cooperation and partnership for the implementation of the project were signed yesterday, February 16, by the regional units of the National Police and the State Emergency Service of Kirovograd region, the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration and the Novoprazka, Priyutov and Katerynivka territorial communities.

The head of the Department of Juvenile Prevention of the National Police of Ukraine Vasily Bohdan also took part in the event, which took place at the Main Directorate of NPU of Kirovograd region.

“It is no coincidence that the memorandum was signed on the day of Unity. This symbolically demonstrates the unity of the police, emergency services, local authorities and territorial communities, in particular in creating a safe environment for our little Ukrainians,” Vasyl Bohdan said.

Recall that the pilot project “Security Educator”, which started in Ukraine in early November 2021, is being implemented on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The aim of the project is to create a safe educational environment, to establish communication between law enforcement officers, rescuers and educators with local self-government, student and parent community.

“The essence of the project is to introduce a specialist in the territorial community, whose powers will include the issue of creating a safe educational environment in a specific school assigned to him. The authorized person will cooperate, in particular, with representatives of the police, the State Emergency Service,” said the head of the juvenile police Vasyl Bohdan.

According to him, 23 communities from 15 regions have already joined the project. Kirovograd region became one of the first regions where several communities participate in the implementation of the project.

It should be noted that three of the five territorial communities of Kirovohrad region that submitted questionnaires were selected to participate in the project: Novoprazhskaya and Pryyutivska of Alexandria district and Ekaterinovsk of Kropyvnytskyi district. In these territorial communities, it is planned to operate one security educator, which will cover 9 general educational institutions, where more than 1600 students study.

According to the head of the police of Kirovograd region Roman Koziakov, the implementation of the pilot project “Educator of Safety” will help law enforcement officers in the region to deepen cooperation with communities aimed at protecting children's rights and conducting legal education and preventive work with the younger generation.
