The film “White Angel — The End of Marinka” won the Gold Award and the Grand Prix of the New York Film Festival
The documentary about the war in Ukraine and the work of the Donetsk police near the front from the German TV channel ZDF won two awards in the United States at once. During the NYF 2024 (New York Festivals TV & Film Awards), the film was awarded in the Docudrama nomination.
The winners of the television and film awards were announced in New York on April 16 during the Storytellers virtual gala evening.
The film “White Angel - the End of Marinka” tells about the destruction by Russian troops of the city of Maryinka and the heroic struggle of the police for the lives of its inhabitants. As a reminder, the “white angels” together with the authorities and volunteers evacuated the entire civilian population before the city was finally destroyed and occupied.
The film was based on footage of German journalists taken in Marinka in 2022, interviews with rescued people and law enforcement officers in 2023, as well as recordings from police GoPro cameras. The author and director of the tape is Arndt Ginzel (Arndt Ginzel).

The group “White Angel”, which operates in the Marin direction, continues under fire to evacuate residents from other settlements stormed by Russia.
