Situation of Ukrainian children, women and vulnerable groups of the population who were forced to leave abroad
According to the latest data, almost 6 million Ukrainians were forced to leave Ukraine because of the war. The bulk of them are women, children and the elderly. It is these groups of citizens that are most vulnerable.
According to the UN, more than 1.8 million Ukrainian children have been evacuated abroad.
Units of the National Police constantly cooperate with foreign colleagues in cases of deportation of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation and the Russian Federation. Together with foreign colleagues, law enforcement officers established the facts of the presence of children from the lists of deportees in European countries.
Today, a serious challenge for Ukraine is to prevent the involvement of Ukrainians in criminal activities. Among the most widespread forms of exploitation abroad are sexual and labor exploitation. Of these types of crimes, women become the most.
To combat these phenomena, the Ukrainian Task Force was created. Together with European partners, our police officers work to protect Ukrainians temporarily displaced to Europe from trafficking in human beings. The group interacts with 12 European countries. Members of the group exchange information about human trafficking cases and participate in joint criminal investigations.
All these issues will be discussed at the next meeting of the network of contact persons established on the initiative of the Special Representative to ensure coordination between the countries participating in the Council of Europe.
