Cannibalism cases 1932-1933: A 33-year-old woman driven insane by hunger killed and ate her child (FILM)
The Holodomor is the most cruel and sadistic crime of the Kremlin committed against Ukrainians. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine published unique documents - criminal cases on cannibalism for 1933.
In the archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs there are 1022 cases of cannibalism in 1932-1933.
Among the published documents is the case of Anna Ivanovna Storcheus. Woman born in 1900, had a husband and four children. However, during the winter of 1932, a husband and three children died due to starvation. There is only one daughter left, named Nadezhda. However, the woman goes mad, kills and eats her Hope.
The peculiarity of cases qualified under Article 174 of the UCC of the USSR is that from the outside they met the requirements of justice. Formally, an investigation was carried out, the fact of the crime was established, the perpetrators were identified and punished. However, in fact, the regime condemned its victims for the murder.
The process of organizing artificial hunger and actually bringing people to cannibalism is not documented in the case materials. Psychiatric examinations were then almost not carried out. Investigators at the time did not record the mental state of the woman, despite the fact that her family had been in a state of hunger for a year. And it is almost impossible to remain in common sense after losing four relatives in those conditions.
