You can now pay for the storage of license plates online
The main service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and SE “INFOTEH” expand the range of services that can be obtained online. From January 12, in the Electronic Cabinet of the driver it is possible to pay for the continued storage of license plates without a personal visit to the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where they are located. This was reported by the head of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Nikolai Rudyk in the national news agency “Ukrinform”.
Responsible storage of license plates is a convenient service for those who want to reassign their license plates after, for example, selling a car, to another vehicle. They can be left in storage for further fastening to their new vehicle or car of another spouse, daughter, son, parents. The service is provided by territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Statistics say that now almost 40 thousand license plates are in responsible storage in service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Therefore, the service of extending the shelf life is relevant for all these car owners,” Mykola Rudyk said at the presentation of the online service.
We remind you that previously the payment for the extension could only be confirmed in person or through an authorized representative. But only offline.
Since many car owners who left license plates for storage do not have the opportunity to personally contact the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to extend the shelf life, an online payment service was developed.
How to leave license plates for storage?
During the re-registration of the vehicle (for example, during the conclusion of the contract of sale in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), inform the administrator of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that you want to save the state registration number for the next car.
The cost for one day of storage is 10.8 UAH. The term of such storage is determined by the client ordering the service.
How to extend the paid storage of license plates?
You can extend the shelf life of license plates online or offline. It is convenient that you can choose the format. Payment for the extension of storage must be made no later than the expiration of the storage period of the license plate.
Storage extension service is available in the driver's electronic cabinet. You just need to log in, choose this service among electronic services, determine the shelf life and pay. The service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs receives information about the continuation of the storage of license plates automatically.
Previously, to extend the shelf life, it was necessary only personally or through a trusted person to contact a specific service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where license plates are stored. That is, the option was available exclusively offline.
In this format, the service continues to be provided. To extend the shelf life, you must submit a receipt for payment of the service to the territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In this case, you do not need to take a pre-registration card.
Important: the transfer of license plates that are in responsible storage to other territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is not provided for by law.
During the martial law in Ukraine, the destruction of license plates that are on paid storage is not carried out. This means that a fee for their storage is charged. Service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue to store such license plates until the owner appeals or until the legal regime of martial law is abolished.
