Cooperation with the Czech Republic is strong and concrete — Denis Monastyrskyi
This was emphasized by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine today, October 31, during a meeting with Vit Rakushan, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic.
Denis Monastyrskyi expressed his gratitude to the Czech Republic for the consistent support of the Ukrainian people. And he stressed that established cooperation is one of the best among relations with other countries.
“Relations between our countries have become more concrete and more complete after the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation. We have specific assistance from the Czech Republic to restore the work of the units of the Ministry of the Interior, first of all, to restore the fleet of fire equipment, to ensure the individual protection of our firefighters. In specific situations, we convey the needs that arise after the destruction of units of our services, which occur daily in Ukraine. In particular, the Czech Republic took custody of the Dnipropetrovsk region, it is there with its help that both units and housing will be rebuilt. Specific assistance is provided not only in Ukraine, but also in the Czech Republic itself. After all, about half a million citizens of Ukraine today received the protection of the Czech Republic,” Denys Monastyrsky noted.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine outlined the most urgent challenges, to respond to which the Ministry of Internal Affairs needs the support of the Czech side. First of all, it was about technical support of units and assistance in the investigation of war crimes, treatment and psychological rehabilitation of defenders. The parties also discussed the scope of humanitarian demining of enemy-contaminated territories of Ukraine, in particular thanks to the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. Separately, it was discussed about the possibility of opening a representative office of the Ukrainian Migration Agency in the Czech Republic.
Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakushan assured of readiness to further develop cooperation, as well as to continue active cooperation after the end of the war.
“This is our second meeting. The first took place when Denis Monastyrsky performed in Prague. In my opinion, it was an extremely successful event because it had the opportunity to appeal to the EU countries and tell us what it is like to live in a war situation. And I consider one of my greatest achievements the acceptance of Ukrainian refugees by our country with the great support of the Czech people,” said Vit Rakushan.
According to him, the Czech Republic will assist the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the treatment and rehabilitation of defenders, in the plane of investigation of war crimes, will help the recovery of the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs after the war, and will also contribute to the process of joining the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
