Within the framework of the nationwide tele-marathon “United News”, the spokesman of the National Guard spoke about the current situation on the Eastern Front and in the liberated territories, as well as about medical support and other tasks performed by units of the NGU.
Together with all defense forces, the National Guard participates in repelling attacks in almost all areas where active combat operations are being conducted. All units maintain their positions as much as possible, despite the shelling, which does not stop and causes not only damage to military positions, but also great destruction to settlements.
Techniques and weapons are concentrated as much as possible to support units in combat areas and in areas where it is most needed. When constant active hostilities are conducted, the issue of continuous support of troops is relevant and is decided by the top leadership in order to make the army combat capable. Including through the involvement of international assistance.
Ruslan Muzychuk noted that regarding medical provision — work is also underway to replenish it, in particular, due to the volume of volunteer assistance. These are medicines and cars that are delivered to areas where they are most needed now. Much attention was paid to the training of fighters precisely to tactical medicine. That the fighter on the battlefield could provide himself or a comrade with first aid.
National Guard units are also involved in those areas where there is no active fighting: in street patrol, anti-sabotage activities, mining.
One of the biggest challenges remains the demining of territories liberated from the Russian occupiers. This is a gigantic scale of work. As of today, NGU sappers have detected and defused more than 10 thousand explosive objects.
Currently, more than 50 diplomatic missions and consular posts have resumed operations in the capital — and guards provide security to these facilities for the safe work of diplomats.
