I serve so that my entire border family will be proud of me - military Mikhail Dimitrichak
Senior soldier Mykhailo Dimitrichak is the youngest of the border guards in the family, besides him, his father, mother and grandfather connected his fate with the border.
Currently, Mykhailo is serving in the Uzhgorod border service department of the Chopsky detachment.
Three decades ago, at the then border outpost “Onokovtsy”, a soldier Vladimir Dimitrichak, the father of the young man, served nearby. Volodymyr Mikhailovich went all the way as a soldier in his time — from ordinary to lieutenant colonel and, due to family circumstances, he was released into the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine only last year. And before that there were border units and management of the Mukachevo detachment, then in 2014 - ATO, in 2022 - mobilization and execution of military tasks in connection with the beginning of a full-scale invasion.
Mikhail's mother Natalia is a soldier of the Mukachevo detachment. She began her service as a liaison officer in the border unit. The guy says that he still remembers how skillfully his mother practiced with leading telephone technology and how incredibly beautiful she looked in military uniform.
Grandfather, Mikhail Vladimirovich, rarely shares memories of his service. He also completed his military career with the rank of lieutenant colonel, having passed many posts in various corners of the then Soviet Union. However, the tight-knit and somewhat strict grandfather has always been for little Mikhail the standard of a man and a military man.
Mikhail Dimitrichak's childhood was spent in Transcarpathia, in military towns among border guards. From a young age he distinguished the types of small arms, was familiar with military automotive equipment, loved to play with service dogs.
After graduating from school, he entered first college, and then at Mukachevo State University. Having just completed his education, in 2021 he went on military service. The relatives supported the young man in this, because, as he says himself, he did not see other alternatives for himself, how to become a border guard.
Now senior soldier Mykhailo Dimitrichak is one of the best servicemen in his unit. The most significant incentive for him is the high appreciation of his efforts by his parents and grandparents. The boy says, “I try to serve so that my entire frontier family is proud of me. Therefore, I constantly learn, improve skills, help others. I know for sure that my parents will not be ashamed of me.”
Mikhail admits that he always wanted to prove to his relatives that he conscientiously and diligently fulfills the duties assigned to him, that he is also a true defender of state borders and already has the first results — the detention of illegal migrants.
Michael's biggest dream at the moment is Victory: “Today it is difficult for me to imagine the future. As long as it is necessary, I will continue to serve and do so in the most conscientious way possible. I understand that the main thing in time is that each of us should work to the maximum for the sake of Victory.”
