Slovakia became the third country where you can exchange a driver's license with the SE “Dokument”
From March 2, the service of exchanging a national driver's license for the same Ukrainian one is provided in Bratislava.
Thanks to the cooperation of the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the service began to be provided in mobile and technical complexes of SE “Dokument” in Slovakia. As of now, the exchange of a driver's license can also be carried out in Poland and the Czech Republic. Thus, it is already the third country where it is possible to exchange a provisional national driver's license or old one for a new one, or in case of change of personal data — surname, first name, patronymic.

Reception of citizens is carried out both by prior appointment and in the “live” queue.
Opening hours of mobile software and technical complexes in Bratislava: Monday — Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00 local time; Sunday — day off. It is possible to exchange driver's licenses on Tuesday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. local time; Sunday and Monday - weekends.
The service of exchanging a driver's license is provided when a person has a physical document and it leaves it to an employee of the State Enterprise “Dokument”. Abroad, the service of restoration of the Ukrainian driver's license in case of loss or theft is not yet provided. But such a service can be obtained on the territory of Ukraine in 148 service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or ordered online through the Driver's Electronic Cabinet.
To obtain a driver exchange service, you must submit a package of documents:
• passport of a citizen of Ukraine with the place of residence indicated in it, and if the passport is in ID-card format without the available information on registration of the place of residence, then an extract on registration of the person's place of residence is provided together; • taxpayer certificate — “identification code”; • an existing driver's license to be exchanged;
• a document confirming the change of personal data (for example, a registration certificate
marriage, etc.) in case of change of such data.
Algorithm for exchanging a Ukrainian driver's license for a Ukrainian one in Slovakia: a person applies to the State Enterprise “Document” and provides a full package of documents, it is photographed and an application for the exchange of a driver's license is made, the application is sent to Ukraine, where it is considered by the administrator of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In case of successful consideration of the application, that is, approval of the procedure for exchanging a driver's license, a new document for a person is printed on a special form in Bratislava, and the old one is withdrawn.
Service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ukraine do everything possible to process applications on the day of appeal of citizens. But there are circumstances of force majeure when elaboration is not possible. For example, during an air alert due to a missile threat on the territory of Ukraine, the processing of applications is not carried out.
