According to the rules adopted by the European Commission for travellers with COVID-19 vaccination certificates, from now on, for EU countries, the vaccination certificate will be valid for travel for 9 months.

In view of this decision, Slovakia abolished the list of countries at risk associated with the coronavirus strain “omicron” and special conditions for people arriving from risk countries.

As of February 4, 2022, after arriving in Slovakia, individuals who overcame COVID-19 more than 180 days ago have the same conditions as those vaccinated. That is, for fully vaccinated persons, as well as for persons who have overcome the disease, home quarantine upon arrival in Slovakia is not mandatory.

Note that previously, persons suffering from the disease were required to be quarantined. Vaccinated and those who had contracted the disease were required to register in the EhRANICA system. Currently, registration in Ehranice remains mandatory for unvaccinated persons — after each arrival in Slovakia.

Regarding the quarantine for the unvaccinated, it is reduced from 10 days to 5 days after arrival in Slovakia, or the quarantine is terminated after receiving a negative PCR test result, which can be done immediately after arrival in Slovakia.
