Investigators of the National Police started criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal destruction of an object on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
Representatives of the Ministry of Culture contacted the police with a statement about the detection of damage and destruction of one of the buildings. Currently, law enforcement officers find out all the details and collect evidence of illegal actions.
Employees of the Ministry of Culture recorded the emergency condition of the premises on the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, unfit for operation and such that it has obvious signs of destruction.
Investigators of the Pechersk Police Department entered information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 2 of Art. 298 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional illegal destruction, destruction or damage to cultural heritage objects or parts thereof.
The sanction of the article provides for a fine of two to five thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or restriction of liberty for a period of up to three years, or imprisonment for the same term, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years or without it.
Investigative actions are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
