Investigators of Dnipropetrovsk region have exposed members of a criminal group that caused damage to the state of almost 7 million hryvnias
Officials of the state enterprise founded a private firm through which they concluded contracts for the performance of various types of work. At the same time, the state-owned enterprise remained unprofitable, and income received only on paper.
Law enforcement officers found out that the 73-year-old director of the enterprise involved two accomplices - his own son and a local resident - to the criminal group. They created a private company through which they concluded contracts for the manufacture of various types of products.
All economic activities were carried out exclusively through their firm, but contracts were not concluded on behalf of the state-owned enterprise. Therefore, from 2016 to 2019, the attackers appropriated budget funds in the amount of more than 6.9 million hryvnias.
On April 28, 2023, authorized searches took place at the places of residence of the defendants, during which the police seized a number of material evidence confirming their criminal activities.
All three participants of the criminal scheme of seizing budget funds were handed a notice of suspicion under parts 4 and 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (appropriation, squandering of property or possession of it by abuse of official position).
Currently, two suspects - the director of a state-owned enterprise and an accountant, have chosen preventive measures in the form of detention.
