The situation on the western border. Border guards discover SUV stolen in Bulgaria and stop tobacco smuggling (VIDEO)
The State Border Guard Service effectively uses the database of the International Criminal Police Organization Interpol. In particular, yesterday the soldiers of the Lviv Detachment discovered the stolen car.
SUV “KIA”, driven by a 45-year-old compatriot of ours, followed to Ukraine through the checkpoint “Shegyny”. During the border control, the database was activated. As the border guards found out, the vehicle was stolen in April 2022 in Bulgaria.
On this fact, the border guards immediately informed the Interpol Ukrbureau in the city. Kyiv and received confirmation of information about the car. In the end, the vehicle of Swedish registration, together with the driver, was handed over to the National Police.
In Chernivtsi region, border guards together with SBU officers disrupted a shipment of packagers trying to transport 23,000 packs of tobacco across the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
During the implementation of advance information of operational officers of the Chernivtsi detachment, a joint interdepartmental group found a group of unknown persons with packages near the border. With the appearance of law enforcement officers, the offenders, in order to avoid responsibility, abandoned their burdens and resorted to escape.
After checking the area adjacent to the border, border guards found 46 boxes of cigarettes without excise stamps of Ukraine and means to overcome engineering structures. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of tobacco withdrawn is almost 2 million hryvnias.
After registration of the relevant documents, the seized goods are transferred to the employees of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine. Also sent a message under Art. 204 Criminal Code “Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excisable goods”.
In total, on December 05, 53 thousand people and 15 thousand vehicles crossed the western borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova (in the Chernivtsi region).
26 thousand people left Ukraine last day. 15 thousand of them crossed the border with Poland, the rest followed to other EU countries and Moldova.
Over the past day, 27 thousand people followed Ukraine, 24 thousand of them are citizens of Ukraine.
98 trucks with humanitarian aid were issued.
