The situation on the border: border guards detained drug traffickers and exposed the trafficking of smugglers
In Transcarpathia, the operatives of the Chop Border Detachment together with the employees of the National Police and the SBU exposed a criminal group that was engaged in the distribution of narcotic and psychotropic substances in the territory of the Transcarpathian region.
Law enforcement found that five members of the group, organized by a 30-year-old local resident, were involved in the sale of drugs to wholesalers and drug addicts. Each of the detainees played their part in the scheme.
As part of the criminal proceedings, 14 searches were carried out at the addresses of the persons involved in the case. During them, law enforcement officers discovered and seized narcotic drugs packaged in zip bags and dosed in syringes, amphetamine, methamphetamine, PVP salts, as well as a whole arsenal of weapons and ammunition, cars, office equipment, mobile phones, bank cards, cash, draft records, special technical means.
The defendants of the case were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and placed in the temporary detention center of the Main Directorate of the National Police. They were declared suspected of committing a criminal offense, responsibility for which is provided for in Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code “Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues”. The issue of choosing a precautionary measure for suspects is being resolved.
It is also known that the employees of the main operational-search department of the Chop border detachment prevented an attempt to illegally move a batch of tobacco products across the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
Law enforcement officers stopped a vehicle “Mitsubishi” of Ukrainian registration at the border. There were two locals in it. During the inspection of the car in the baggage department, border guards found 10 packages of tobacco products without the stamp of excise duty of Ukraine. As the operators established, the driver and passengers of the car planned to move them from Ukraine to Slovakia using unmanned aerial vehicles. A total of 5,000 packs of cigarettes were counted.
According to the results of the inspection of the scene, TU BEB detectives seized tobacco products and the vehicle with which they were transported.
Operatives of the Chop Border Detachment sent to the address of the Territorial Department of BEB in the Transcarpathian region a notice on the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Art. 204 Criminal Code “Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excisable goods”.
In total, over the past day, December 6, 52 thousand people and 14 thousand vehicles crossed the western borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova (in the Chernivtsi region).
26 thousand people left Ukraine last day. 15 thousand of them crossed the border with Poland, the rest followed to other EU countries and Moldova. Over the past day, 26 thousand people followed Ukraine, 22 thousand of them are citizens of Ukraine. 55 trucks with humanitarian aid were issued.
Currently, border guards warn about the danger of wild animals in the Carpathians.
With the onset of cold weather, the outfits of the Chernivtsi border patrol capture not only border violators, but also club-footed violators of the winter sleep regime. Already in the first week of winter, the soldiers of the mountain units used their weapons several times to scare away wild bears with warning shots upwards.
Often, border guards also meet wild cats. Just last day, border guards caught the Carpathian selfie lover, a lynx, twice with photo traps.
