What to do if the passport document is lost abroad
The procedure for contacting the authorized bodies due to the theft of a passport is the same in most countries. As in Ukraine, abroad it is necessary to immediately contact the nearest police station to make an application for the loss of a passport document.
According to the results of receiving such an application, you must be issued a copy of the protocol or a certificate of temporary absence of a passport. With this certificate, you must contact the nearest diplomatic or consular institution of Ukraine to obtain a new passport (relevant for citizens of Ukraine permanently residing or temporarily staying in the territory of the relevant country) or to obtain an identity card for return to Ukraine.
After returning home, you need to contact the Migration Service to report the loss of the document and issue a new one.
