Sappers continue to clean the territory of Ukraine of dangerous objects, both on land and in water
So, on August 11, the 101 Rescue Service received a message about an unbroken explosive object.
Arriving at the scene, the SNSS specialists identified the ammunition as a guided aircraft bomb FAB-500. The site was fenced off to protect citizens.
The SNS sappers transported her to a specially prepared place and destroyed in compliance with safety rules.
In addition, sappers also work in water bodies. Demining the water area of Kherson region is one of the difficult tasks, so divers of the special purpose emergency and rescue squad regularly improve their skills and skills in reconnaissance and extraction of explosive objects from the bottom of the river.
Thanks to underwater drones, our divers carry out reconnaissance at a distance, which guarantees the safety of life and health of personnel and improves the efficiency of the unit.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the large-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, 420 thousand 866 explosive items and 2 thousand 892 kg of explosives have been defused, including 3 thousand 77 aircraft bombs. The area of more than 92 thousand 307 hectares was surveyed.
In turn, rescuers draw citizens' attention to the correct algorithm of behavior when detecting explosive objects: do not approach the find, do not touch hands or apply any mechanical action.
