Development of anti-corruption education in Ukraine: prospects and challenges
The round table dedicated to training specialists in the anti-corruption sphere was held by Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs together with the Department of Corruption Prevention of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.
As noted by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Sergey Goncharov, corruption is becoming even more negative, so all authorities must act in cooperation to combat it.
In his turn, the rector of the university Valeriy Sokurenko noted that the issue of formation and effective functioning of the authorized units for the prevention of corruption is currently being given special attention.
Serhiy Derkach, Head of the Department for Prevention and Detection of Corruption of NACP, emphasized the need to increase the role of the Institute of Anticorruption Commissioners.
During the round table, Anatoly Fodchuk, head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, shared the experience of introducing anti-corruption programs in the field of education. He also focused on the important role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the development of the institution of the anti-corruption commissioner.
Head of the Professional Development Department of the authorized units of the Department of Corruption Prevention and Detection of NACP Ekaterina Datsko together with Serhiy Derkach presented to the participants the Strategy for Training and Development of Anti-Corruption Commissioners for 2022-2025.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Higher School of Public Administration and higher education institutions joined the round table. The objective of the event was to determine the possibility of integrating anti-corruption into the higher education system of Ukraine, in particular the introduction of a separate specialty and the development of interdisciplinary master's programs in the field of anti-corruption.
Based on the results of the discussion, relevant recommendations were developed, which will be implemented in the further training of the authorities on anti-corruption activities.
