Shot cars in Irpen and captured civilians: National Police investigators sent an indictment against the occupier to court
Police established that in early March 2022, the Russian military shot 10 cars with civilians trying to leave Irpen, Kiev region.
The police conducted a complex of investigative actions and informed the three occupiers about the suspicion. Then the indictment against the commander of the reconnaissance company was sent to trial. At the moment, investigators have sent an indictment against another Russian military officer to the court.
On March 5 and 6, 2022, local residents, along with young children, tried to evacuate from the outskirts of the capital - Irpen. The occupiers opened fire on civilians from grenade launchers and small arms. As a result of the shootings, 9 people were killed, another 12 were injured, including a young child.
Police investigators identified three soldiers of the aggressor country involved in the shooting of the evacuation column, they were informed of the suspicion. At the same time, the indictment against the company commander of the 173rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion was sent to trial.
The indictment against the 23-year-old paratrooper has now been sent to court. It was established that the occupier, after firing civilian cars at gunpoint, forbade providing assistance to the wounded, people lay on the road and slowly died in front of their relatives. Instead, he and other Russian military were locked in a captured house of survivors and wounded who could move on their own. Among the prisoners were seriously wounded.
It was possible to identify the war criminal by a photograph that was taken by him on a camera and left in the house near the place of the shooting. The guilt of the grenade launcher of the 2nd Platoon, 6th Company, 2nd Battalion of the 137th Guards Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 106th Division of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in committing a criminal offense is confirmed by the protocols of interrogations of victims and witnesses, presentation for identification and others material evidence and materials of criminal proceedings.
Currently, investigators of the department of the organization for the investigation of crimes committed in the conditions of armed conflict, the General Staff of the National Police of Ukraine have sent the indictment against the serviceman of the Russian Federation to the court. He is incriminated by the doctrine of the crime provided for in Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 438 (Cruel treatment of civilians, violation of the laws and customs of war, committed by a previous conspiracy by a group of persons, combined with premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The invader faces life imprisonment.
